The 44th annual Figawi Race will take place on Saturday, May 23, when over 200 boats and 1,000 crew members take their mark to sail the sea at 10 a.m. Beginning at Hyannis Harbor, participants will cruise across Nantucket Sound and into the Nantucket Boat Basin. Even if you're not part of the Figawi race, and maybe want to steer clear of the Figawi 'party tent', Nantucket Insider has some plans for maritime merriment this weekend.
The Cottages & Lofts at The Boat Basin are the ideal place to stay to take in the full Figawi weekend experience, as they are situated right at the epicenter of this annual event. And they are ideally set up for traveling with friends, as most have two or three bedrooms, and all have full kitchens and outdoor space for people and boat watching.
